Polytex is made from High Density Polyethylene (HDPE), consisting of a monofilament and tape assembly. The shade sail fabric is weaved together in a "Raschel Knit" lock stitch to assure that the fabric does not split or fray if cut or pierced. Polytex is built for architectural shade sails and outdoor shade structures, providing more than 95% UV protection. Its high strength-to-weight ratio, mildew resistance, and fire rating make it an ideal choice for smaller projects where sun protection is desired, like patio shade sails and canopies.
