Astrup Offers New Sunbrella® Shade Marine Fabric
A new light filtering material that provides boaters with privacy and sun protection

The Astrup Company, a leading supplier of fabric and hardware materials used in the marine industry, has just added Sunbrella® Shade, a new light filtering material that provides boaters with privacy and sun protection. Designed for applications both above and below the deck, Sunbrella Shade is used to create window shades for boat cabins and for privacy screening as part of cockpit or bridge enclosures.

Sunbrella Shade allows boaters to cool and protect the boat’s interior. The fabric reduces temperatures inside cabins and boat enclosures, while blocking 84 percent of UVA and UVB rays. Sunbrella Shade also creates privacy without blocking the view from the boat.

Woven from the same yarns as Sunbrella® marine fabrics, Sunbrella Shade is color-fast, easily cleaned and durable in the marine environment as it resists fade, stains and mildew. A mock-leno weaving technique is used to create evenly spaced apertures, which are critical elements of the light and moisture filtering features of this unique fabric.

Sunbrella Shade is available in a 54-inch width, with a marine look and feel that coordinates with colors in the existing line of Sunbrella marine fabrics. Colors available include Linen, Captain Navy, Natural, Black, Cadet Grey and Oyster.
