The Astrup Company, a leading supplier of fabric and hardware materials used in the marine industry, has just added new products to its marine hardware line.

A new Steel Stitch™ Round Staple-in Tube has been designed for marine applications, and it’s available exclusively through Astrup. The new Round Staple-in Tube is bright dip anodized for a polished look and maximum corrosion resistance, making it ideal for biminis, boat tops and other marine applications.

This 1-1/4 inch round tube’s staple-in channel opening is the same width as all Steel Stitch extrusions, ensuring compatibility with both Steel Stitch Fabric ZipStrip® and PVC ZipStrip. The tube has similar strength characteristics to 1-1/4 inch diameter, 16 gauge stainless steel and 1-1/4 inch diameter, 1/8 inch sidewall aluminum. The tube can be bent by three wheel roller benders to a radius of approximately 12 inches. It requires dies wide enough for the 1-1/4 inch diameter. Found only at Astrup, each tube is 25 feet in length, and available in 250 foot bundles.

The new Heavy Duty Quick Release Bimini Top Deck Hinge has a round design that fits the shape of a boat better. The round base measures 2-1/2 inches in diameter and is 5/8 inches high. It can be securely fastened onto a deck using three number eight screws. The adapter can be inserted into the base four different ways, offering several options for easier installation.

Astrup's new Split Side Mount helps to simplify marine frame installations. The split side allows the mounts to be placed in the bent corners or across the tops of frames. Made of cast 316 stainless steel, the mounts are polished to a marine bright finish and available for both 7/8 inch and 1 inch tubing. The split mount comes with a Phillips head screw and two nylon washers for mounting struts. Two 1/4-28 set screws secure the slide fitting to the frame.
