Astrup Unveils New Curtain System
The Duratrack, Inc. system is designed for a variety of industrial applications

The Astrup Company has just unveiled a new curtain system by Duratrack, Inc. designed for a variety of industrial applications. Used to create privacy and partitions in a wide range of settings, the new 16-gauge galvanized steel system includes a range of products that suspend and anchor the curtain system, as well as a variety of trolleys that allow the curtains to move along the track.

The new curtain hardware allows for many different curtain applications. The Roller Track is roll formed from 16-guage hot dipped galvanized steel and sold in 10- and 20-foot-long sections. The trolley wheels roll on the track floor between the outside track wall and the inside safety flange. The ends of the track are punched so that the track splices can lock two adjoining track ends together. A standard Curved Track has end connectors for securing to adjacent sections of the roller track. The standard curve has a two-foot 90-degree radius.

The system’s Industrial Curtain Trolleys are designed for larger, heavier curtains. Options include a two-wheel trolley with nylon wheels, a two-wheel trolley with bumper and nylon wheels, a two-wheel trolley with bumper and steel wheels, and as a four-wheel trolley with bumper and steel wheels. Trolleys with bumpers should be used in applications where the wheels of consecutive bumperless trolleys would rub together. In this case, the trolley frame extends beyond the outer portion of the wheel acting as a bumper. When the curtain weight exceeds 100 pounds or the curtain height is over 15 feet, steel ball bearing wheels should be used.

Other hardware available includes:

  • End Stops – used to prevent trolleys from rolling out of the ends of the track system.
  • Wall Mount and End Mount Brackets – used when the track system is running adjacent to the wall.
  • Ceiling Support Brackets – allow the track to be attached before and after the brackets are secured to the ceiling.
