Polytex is made with High Density Polyethylene (HDPE), consisting of a monofilament and tape assembly. The shade sail fabric is weaved together in a "Raschel Knit" lock stitch to assure that the fabric does not rip or fray if cut or pierced. Polytex is designed for architectural shade sails and outdoor shade structures, providing over 95% UV protection. Its high strength-to-weight ratio, mildew resistance, and fire rating make it the ideal choice for smaller projects where sun protection is needed, like canopies and patio shade sails. The lightweight shade cloth is lead and phthalate free. Use Polytex in Silver for a clean, practical element.
