Made from aluminum alloy 6063-T5 with a mill finish, this awning frame tube is used with the Steel Stitch System. The tube is typically used as a middle rafter to support drop-in ceiling panels for back-lit or under-lit awnings.
Steel Stitch offers flexible design in the installation of awnings, canopies, and back-lit signs. The frame system uses the "staple-in" technique of attaching fabric by stapling it into the tube channel. A PVC finishing trim, in a choice of more than 30 colors, is then driven into the channel to conceal the staples. By using divider strips to join sections and the patented FlashStrip® (which forms a watertight seal against building surfaces), the result is a desirable, seamless, and wrinkle-free awning.
Steel Stitch Tube #SMP-5D is 7/8" x 7/8" x 1/16" and is 20' long.
