Dietz Headrail is a lightweight, continuous head and rafter holder extruded from 6063-T6 mill finish aluminum. The head rod awning molding (also known as awning rail or awning track) is designed to provide easy, leakproof installations that combine strength, attractiveness, and economy. The need for a header board is eliminated.
The trailer molding-type opening eliminates the need for iron and provides an easy method for sliding the fabric through the molding. Conventional 1/4-inch rope or tubing is recommended for sewing in the head.
Cast aluminum alloy hinges are inserted with a simple quarter turn. It is not necessary to insert hinges from the end, which allows for easy installation of extra rafters.
Two grooves to facilitate drilling are strategically placed to offset thrust of frame and shrinkage of canvas, as well as allow ample clearance for 3/8-inch lag bolts or keystone anchors for brick installations. This Dietz Head Rod Molding is 12 feet long.
