A component of the VELCRO® Brand hook and loop fastener system, the #81 "hook" (male) strip has small, stiff hooks. This woven tape fastener engages with a #9000 "loop" (female) strip that has small, soft loops. When pressed together, the mating strips create an adjustable, secure closure.
The VELCRO® Brand tape's compact, polyester structure grants high durability, stability, and easy maintenance. While usually not as strong as nylon, polyester affords better resistance to UV rays and water. The unique self-gripping technology does away with the need for buckles, rings, or snaps. Uses for these sew-on strips consist of tying and wrapping, bundling, straps, indoor/outdoor functions, marine fastening, cushion placement, clothing, recreational gear, and more. VELCRO® Brand polyester hook tape #173645 has a width of 1.5 inches and is available in white.
